量産化されなかったハイブリッドスーパーカーという主題
Onyxは磨き上げられていないカーボン地とカッパーの塗装パネルを組み合わせるという、当時のショーカーとしても異例の仕上げで注目を集めた。ディーゼルエンジンとハイブリッドシステムを組み合わせるパワートレインの構成も含め、Peugeotが持つ技術とデザインの方向性を一台に凝縮した実験的な主題である。市販化を前提としないコンセプトカーだからこそ、その姿を手元で確認できるミニカーの価値が増す。
カーボンとカッパーの対比を塗装で表現
素材の質感が異なる部分を塗り分けるのは、ダイキャストにとって難易度の高い仕上げになるが、Norevはカッパーの光沢部分とマット調のカーボン表現を面ごとに塗り分けて対比を出している。低く構えたウェッジシェイプのボディは、量産車にはない極端なプロポーションを持ち、コンセプトカーというジャンルの醍醐味を伝えてくれる。Peugeotのブランド史においてデザインの実験場となった一台を、手頃な価格帯で手にできる点も見逃せない。
