ダイキャスト製法が支える空力パーツの再現

現行F1マシンは複雑な空力パーツの集合体だが、このRB16Bはダイキャストならではの重みでその質感を伝える。フロントウィングやサイドポンツーンの意匠、Red Bull Racingのリバリーとスポンサーロゴが細部まで塗り分けられ、#33のゼッケンも鮮明に再現されている。ミニチャンプスは翌年以降の1/18F1モデルを樹脂製へ移行させており、このRB16Bは同社がダイキャストで空力表現に挑んだ最後の世代の一台といえる。

フェルスタッペンの初優勝シーズンを飾る一戦

2021年のエミリア・ロマーニャGPは、フェルスタッペンとレッドブルがハミルトン率いるメルセデスと激しく争ったシーズンの序盤を象徴する一戦。イモラという伝統ある舞台での勝利は、その後のタイトル獲得への流れを作った。2020年代のF1モデルを集めるコレクターにとって、このRB16Bはタイトル獲得までの軌跡を一戦ずつ棚に並べる楽しみを与えてくれる。
